The Aurora Festival
The city of Crotone hosts every year the Aurora Festival, featuring a series of music and cultural events to be concluded with a closing concert taking place at the Capocolonna promontory (May 25, 4.30 a.m.).
The festival pays a special tribute to music and math, both celebrated by the philosopher Pitagora, who actually based his school in Crotone. The Festival schedules music performances, lectures and cultural events . The closing concert, or the “Aurora Concert”, is traditionally held within the scenic framework of the Capocolonna promontory. The concert starts before dawn and symbolizes the transition from darkness to light. Like the ancient temple of Hera Lacinia, the Capocolonna promontory faces the south, thus catching the first ray of light arising from the sea.
The event takes place during the whole month of May and exemplifies, with special reference to the closing concert, the birth, occurred millennia ago, of a series of concepts, intuitions and values destined to have a significant impact on human civilization, also developing a universal language where music and numbers are closely intertwined. According to Pitagora, music and math are where the rhythm originates from. The Festival alternates high-quality music performances, cultural
activities, exhibitions and popular feasts, like the celebrations of the Madonna in Capocolonna.

The Restaurant serves Calabrian specialties at only € 15 per person. (drinks excluded)

Reductions: 3rd extrabed for 3-12 years old guests, 30%; 3rd extrabed for adults, 20%.
